As soon as you open the door of each unit, you will be transformed to another world in these truly unique retreats designed and restored by a local artist. The hardwood floors, large windows that soak the room in natural light, and tall ceilings found in both homes are sure to impress your group. The first home has a living area, kitchen, and dining area that are open concept and boast pieces such as parking meter light fixtures, pieces from McDonough Ironworks molds, and murals from our local artist. The second home is loft style with the kitchen, dining, bedroom, and desk area open to each other. Both homes boast a fully equipped kitchen with all the pots and pans needed to whip up a meal for your group. You will find an oversized Viking gas range and wine fridge in the first home. When it is time to eat, gather around the island or dining room tables to enjoy your meal. The dining table chairs in the second home showcase Galveston history as they were desk chairs from the old orphanage next door.
The first home boasts a large bedroom with a queen size bed and TV. The living area of the first home features a daybed. The second home boasts a queen size bed in the open loft-style area. The first home’s bathroom has a restored clawfoot tub and a unique double sink. The second home’s bathroom features a beautiful glass tile wall at the end of the shower / tub combination. The sink is a beautiful vessel sink.
There is a shared laundry area free of charge for you to use during your stay. Downstairs you will find a seating area and ping pong parlor.
